I am remoting into my Windows 7 PC running 32 bit Windows 7 Enterprise with SP1. Using Microsoft Remote Desktop v8.0.25 on OS X El Capitan v 10.11.1. The SHIFT key does not work. I can use the CAPS LOCK key to enter capitals, but cannot type any of the special keys (such as '@' in an email address). I have moved to VM Fusion and created a Windows 8.1 virtual machine and on that run the Windows Remote Desktop Connection Manager. Not a free solution but an incredible improvement over just using Cord. Now that Cord is basically unusable I am so relived I'd moved before upgrading to El Capitan.
